Resonance of our choice…! – Next Orbit

When You Blame Others, You Give Up Your Power To Change…!

How could anyone get anything important done if they didn’t plan to get anything important done? You couldn’t leave the important things in life to accident.

Yes! Attitude Matters.

Very recently my car met with an accident.

Fortunately, there were no major injuries. Driver escaped the wreck unscathed. However, the entire front bonnet, head-lights, left front door and panel of my vehicle were savagely smashed. Somehow, driver managed to drive the car to our apartment parking. Undeniably, I was utterly disconcerted and staggered to see the mutilation of my lovely car. When I was agitatedly staring at the car, my wife also arrived at the parking. Seeing me highly distressed, she laughed and said, “Now that we have a beautifully wrecked car, ether we can be distressed about it or be happy about it. We cannot alter the reality, so let’s choose to be cheerful.”

After a short pause I managed a smile and said. “Yeah, you are right, look we are already late for our delicious lunch.”…And we laughed together.

I have amusingly left behind that event and I still don’t have a new car..!

It is only when you truly letting go of the past that you are truly open to receive the joy. Our choice is a judgement or directive, which will have a lasting impression on our mental wellness. Such choices, actually play an essential role in modelling our life values.

Yes! Attitude Matters.

Life is never going to be linear or undeviating…life will continue to embrace us in the form of a series of random manifestations. Everything in our life is an echo of our choices. If we endeavor for the quality of wellness in life, this conviction we must hold deep within us. Each of us is bound to encounter hard times in our life journey. But, if we want to achieve something meaningful in life than we have to challenge our own circumstances and express our influential control over life events.

We are solely in charge for our life. Positivity is subjective. We are not a creation of our circumstances. Even if this is true, stop believing it. What matters is our individual perception of happiness.  Make a conscious decision to pursue a lifestyle that will guarantee us enduring all-inclusive wellness. When we do so, we progressively gain absolute control over our choices and what we rightly deserve in life.

Our life is channeled by the choices we make. One of our most imperious choices is the choice of our attitude. Our attitude is an impression and predisposition about a person, an object, or an event. Our attitude is our choice in a given circumstances. We all have a choice. We can choose to be optimistically constructive or we choose to be negative or self-defeating. Our attitude forms an important part of our personality. The moment we have an attitude, we are no more objective, because we are already prejudiced. It is a preconceived opinion and belief, whether negative or positive. We cannot change our past events and experiences. Undesirable events are an unavoidable part of life. We cannot change people and their reactions. However, the only thing in our control is our attitude. Happiness is something we decide on much ahead of time. It is how we condition our mind.

Even now, I distinctly remember that dreadful day of 25th November 2014.

During a match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, A promising Australian cricketer, Phillip Hughes was hit in the neck by Sean Abbott’s bouncer, ensuing a vertebral artery dismemberment that led to a hemorrhage.

He died on 27 November, having never regained consciousness, just three days before his 26th birthday.

The incident generated worldwide reactions.

But what heartened me most was the response by Phillip Hughes’s loving family to Daily Mail Australia (December 3, 2014):

‘We can’t wait to see Sean Abbott tomorrow and give him a big kiss and hug”…“We just want to tell him it was freak accident and he cannot think he had anything to do with it”…“No one is blaming him. We want to hug him and tell him that everything is okay.”

The whole incident moved me deeply.

I learnt a big lesson of life, that is, not to consciously overburden our life more then what we already have. We are bound to stumble upon with random occurrences that are anticipated to contour our attitudes and opinions, and we form perceptions based on every such experiences. However, Triumph over any significant objective always starts with a significant choice.

A positive mental attitude is not proclaiming what is not obvious, it is not repudiating reality, it is not deception. It is acknowledging actuality with optimistic conviction. Accept it and laugh!

Most of the time we tend to sculpt negative icons in our mental screen and let them impede upon our natural responses. Very often our responses are entrenched upon the issues that have potential to disrupt our logicality and continue to obsess us with the deleterious reactions. Ultimately, it is all about how we choose to respond to life events. A winning attitude is not about manoeuvring a deceptive facade for certain personal gains. Rather, it is about conviction, poise and a promise to give our best to every challenge of the life. Our attitude galvanizes our behavior. This is the foundation for our vibrancy. We have no option but to take life in a positive manner. When we live positively, we are effortlessly able to attract positive people in our life. This is the right prescription for the wellness. Never allow circumstances to dominate us.

Bring a revolution in the way we interpret the world.

When we are determined to develop positivity in our outlook, we need to set that as a meaningful goal in our life. We cannot change anything without being conscious that something needs to be changed. If we want to overcome our cynical habit because it leads to agitation in us, we have to choose a pattern of behavior that is inconsistent with our negative tendencies. We are bound to face tremendous inner resistance till we consciously start believing and reinforcing that we actually deserve a much positive life. This might not instantaneously change our circumstances, but we are definitely expected to discover that altering our entire outlook will gently but surely changing our life.

An affirmative attitude expands our capability to spring back from the difficulties in life. It prepares us to effectively deal with demanding life events. It is worth the effort as it results in wellness of our mind, body, and improved level of transcendental outlook. Our attitude is an imperial passage to an incredible fountain of lasting joy in our life. We need to have faith in the amazing potentialities of our constructive thoughts.

We can do it. Make right choices now!

If we do not choose to be happy no one can make us happy.

Percy Bysshe Shelley, expressed it so well, “I have drunken deep of joy, And I will taste no other wine tonight.”

While we are at liberty to choose our actions, we are not at liberty to choose the natural consequences of the choices we make…!

We are an image of Divinity.

At the core of our joy is our optimistic connexion with our surroundings.

    • Our most treasured asset is our sovereignty to choose! Even when it comes to leadership role in the corporate world…it is not all about power or position, it is a conscious choice—an appetite, a resolution and an impact that will ultimately direct you to lead effectively.

  • Sir.. Like always. Very Inspiring!
Attitude does matter n defines our experiences. Our present is reflection of past events n future will shape up on our actions of today..it is present therefore that holds the key. Also working on things that are within our sphere of control can offer better results but as humans v spend majority of time thinking abt factors beyond our control.

Only when we replace ‘but, if, wish…” With “action, decision n onus” life can take a different path.

  • Lovely article as always Mr Yagnik. Most striking “We are an image of Divinity”! How true.We take too much credit for success and blame others for our failures.

    • Good you liked the conclusion.Regardless of culture or religion, the search for Divinity is fundamental to most of us. Our longing to experience his manifestation is instinctive within our consciousness. It is a magnificent awakening to recognize that we are the Divinity we are seeking.Thanks.

  • Inspiring as always Sir and so many take aways from this blog, ….letting go,accept situation and people as they are, dissociate from event, smile and listen the big mind of a positive side of the negative event, observe feeling cropping up in an event, practice this with the attitude of optimism, pattering and shaping behavior to lead a life meant for happiness and celebration and rightly said in order for us to do that, we must first be healthy and well constituted ourselves. No wonder Yoga as one of the medium for change , as moving from needs to feelings and emotions to action might help.Though the distance from head to heart is few cms but a very long journey probably.
It looks simple but probably would need willingness to put the knowledge into action to understand this statement How could anyone get anything important done if they didn’t plan to get anything important done? You couldn’t leave the important things in life to accident.

Thankyou for sharing your thoughts to ponder and go within.

    • Well said Ritesh…Meditation helps us in learning to face any scenario in life. It gives us an affirmative positioning. We become objectively at ease with the veracity of our situations. We learn to do this by unobtrusive quiet mind.Thanks.

  • Just what I needed to kick start a new day in a new firm in a new city… hopefully I will find something positive soon… Thanks for sharing! its a wonderful and inspiring article 🙂
